I was directed to you via Motorola and I'm hoping you can provide me with some information. Motorola has indicated that Prestolite purchased the automotive operations of Motorola. I'm looking for a replacement Motorola Diesel tachometer described below. I would like to know where to buy a new one or a direct replacement thereof. Many thanks.

Matt,
This part number has been superceded by our part number 7ST24062S (LN sales number 104-536A).
The best way to locate one of these is to find a Leece-Neville distributor in your area.
I hope that helps.
Could you please tell me where we can purchase a Prestolite Tachometer in the UK. Prestolite UK have been unable to help us. We are Prestolite distributors.

Do you have a product number? The instrument line is being phased out, but we may still have some of the units available in the states.

I have a sailboat with a perkins diesel engine. The original Motorola Tachometer had these numbers.
12AT04 K
12V 8024 0038
It receives signals off the alternator.
I need to find a replacement. Can you help?
Jules,
The 12AT04 K was replaced with the 7ST24062S (sales# 104-536A ) The instrument line is being phased out but we may still have some units available at some our local distributors.
I have an Motorola tachometer,
Model No.8T8, Serial No. 1484, with back lighting and the following ink stamping on the back of the steel case: "485-640". It appears to be in very good physical condition with a scale from 0-8000 rpm. There are three terminals on the back of the case. One marked "+", one marked "-", and one unmarked. The unmarked terminal has a "factory looking" jumper from it to the
"-" terminal. The "-" terminal has a clipped, black lead attached. The "+" terminal has a clipped, red lead attached. In addtition, the illumination hole has a buld socket with bulb & clipped, wire. The steel case is about 3.3" in diameter.
My question: Do you have any archived literture on this tachometer such as installation instructions, sales info., etc.?
I would like to use this unit but would need to understand the proper electrical connection to an appropriate engine ignition system.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.
Sincerely,
Max Koschmeder

I recently purchased a used Motorola tachometer, most likely intended for a diesel application (12 volts 4,000RPM). It included the kind of pickup/sender that is normally mounted to read the teeth on the flywheel of an engine.
There's a small plastic plug to the right of the "P" terminal near the top that seems to cover a hole intended for a small Allen wrench, hopefully to adjust it for different flywheel tooth counts.
I'm looking for any information about the tachometer that will help me install it.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you,
Adam
Adam,
The 7ST24013 was used with vehicles that have a 70-135 tooth Fly wheels the plug on the back can be removed and you can adjust the instrument with a small screw driver.
I would like to know if a model 24 HT 4 A can be used on a 12 volt system or on 24 volt systems only.
Thanks
Doug,
The 24V Hourmeter goes with 24V system
