Tachmeter connectionon alternator 110-62/3

I installed the Prestolite alternator (110-602/3) on my boat - it works fine. There is only two things left - for the moment at least: Whereto connect the Tach-wire? At the old Motorola alternator the wire was attached internally to the alternator.
There are two AC Terminals at the new one, we think it would go to one of them?! Is this correct? To either one or has it to go only to one of the two? Which? right or left?

In regard to the correct voltage for AGM-Betteries: How high should the voltage be? 14.4 V are too much I think. How to identify the correct voltage - only by checking on the voltmeter on the battery or are there preset steps decrasing the load?

Good day, you are correct the tacho should go to any one of the a/c taps, they are all the same. The voltage set point for that alternator is 14.4 + or - .2 volt, and is not thermally compensating. As to the best voltage you need to charge your batteries at, you will need to talk to the battery manufacturer and see what they recommend, and I am sure that temperature will have an effect on what the best voltage should be. We make, with Balmar, regulators that charge in 3 steps and are specific to your type of battery, but are a bit pricey. If you need more info, maybe contact our tech service line, thanks.
